Blur / Pixelate Image
Apply blur, pixelation or solid covers to selected rectangular areas and export a flattened image.
Open Blur / Pixelate ImageStep-by-step instructions
- Choose one JPG, PNG or WebP image.
- Choose Blur, Pixelate or Solid cover. Set the intensity or cover color.
- Drag on the preview to add an area, or enter Left, Top, Width and Height and choose Add area.
- Add further areas as needed. Choose an existing area to edit it, or use Remove selected, Undo or Reset all.
- Choose PNG or JPG, export the result and inspect every affected area at full size before sharing.
Effects and exact selection
Blur softens the selected pixels. Pixelate replaces detail with blocks. Intensity is measured in source-image pixels and changes the strength or block size. Solid cover fills the selected area with the chosen opaque color.
Coordinates start at the top-left of the image. Left and Top locate the rectangle, and Width and Height define its size. The Selected area list lets you revisit an existing rectangle and change its controls.
Choosing an effect for private content
Blur and pixelation can leave sensitive words or identifying features inferable. Use a solid cover over the full area when the original detail must be concealed, and include enough border to cover all relevant pixels.
The downloaded image is flattened: it does not contain the original image, editable layers or selection outlines as hidden content. Visible details outside your selections still remain. Check the final downloaded file, not only the preview.
Limits and troubleshooting
Input supports one JPG/JPEG, PNG or WebP; output is PNG or JPG. Images are limited to 16 megapixels and 8000 pixels per side. Animated inputs use their first frame.
You can add up to 40 areas, with a combined area-processing budget of 64 megapixels. Large or overlapping regions can reach that budget. Use fewer regions or a smaller source image if processing is rejected.
If a region covers the wrong part, choose it in the list and check its source-pixel coordinates. Use New area before adding a separate region, and review the result after changing effect or intensity.
Processing and privacy
Files and entered content are processed on your device in this browser tab. File contents and results are not uploaded to Helphonic or sent to analytics. The page still contacts Helphonic to load its tools, check access and confirm non-content usage information. Work is not saved to your account; download or copy results before leaving or reloading the page.
Access and current limits
Check the tool page for current access, remaining usage and per-operation limits. File count, per-file size, total size and page limits can depend on your access and can change. Device and processor safety limits still apply when usage is unlimited. A paid pass does not necessarily increase every processing limit.
One successful export counts as one operation, including its multiple files or pages. Changing options and local previews do not use an operation. Current access checks must complete before the tool can release the result.
Check the current limits
Allowances and per-operation limits can change. The Blur / Pixelate Image page shows the policy that applies to you. Per-operation safety limits still apply when usage is unlimited. See access passes if a tool or extra usage requires paid access.
