Crop Image

Crop JPG, PNG and WebP images with a visual selection, exact coordinates and aspect-ratio presets.

3 free operation(s) per day

Drag on the preview or enter exact pixel values. Selecting a ratio creates a centered crop; manual dimensions can override it.

Temporary files are private and removed after your download response.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as one operation?

One successful export counts as one operation, even when it contains multiple pages. Changing options and local previews do not use your allowance. A failed server validation does not consume an operation.

Are my files shared or stored?

No third-party processing service is used. Uploads go to private Helphonic storage and are removed after the response. Local previews and rendered images remain in browser memory until you leave or reload the page.

Can the free and paid limits change?

Yes. Administrators can configure guest, registered and active-pass access and processing limits independently. See the current limits on this page.

How to use

Crop Image

Keep a rectangular area of a JPG, PNG or WebP image using a visual selection or exact pixel coordinates.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Choose one JPG, PNG or WebP image and wait for the preview.
  2. Drag on the preview to mark the area to keep, or choose an aspect-ratio preset as a starting point.
  3. Adjust Left, Top, Width and Height for an exact crop. Check that the rectangle stays inside the image.
  4. Run Crop Image and download the cropped copy in the source format.
  5. Open the result and check that no needed content was cut off.
Coordinates and presets

Left and Top are pixel offsets from the top-left corner, starting at 0. Width and Height are the size of the rectangle to retain. Coordinates refer to the automatically oriented image.

Presets include square 1:1, landscape 4:3 and 16:9, and portrait 3:4 and 9:16. Choosing a preset creates a centered crop. Manually changing dimensions can override its proportions.

Reset to full image restores a selection covering the source. The visual preview requires JavaScript; exact coordinate fields determine the exported crop.

Supported files and result

The tool accepts one JPG/JPEG, PNG or WebP and returns the same format. Only the selected rectangular area is retained. PNG and WebP transparency is preserved.

Cropping changes the image boundary, not the size of objects inside the selected area. Use Resize Image after cropping if you need a particular final pixel width or height.

Troubleshooting

The crop needs positive whole-number width and height. Left and Top cannot be negative, and the right and bottom edges must fit inside the source image.

The full source must pass dimension and memory checks even for a small crop. If the preview orientation differs from what you expected, inspect the automatically oriented image and reset the crop before entering coordinates again.

Processing and privacy

The selected files are uploaded to Helphonic for processing in private storage. No third-party file-processing service is used. Temporary source and output files are removed after the download response, and failed processing cleans up temporary files. Keep your originals and save the result to your device.

About this tool

Choose an image, drag a crop area or enter precise pixel coordinates, then download the cropped result in its original format. Square, portrait and landscape presets help prepare images for different uses. Coordinates refer to the automatically oriented image. PNG and WebP transparency is preserved; only the selected area is retained.
