Blur / Pixelate Image

Blur, pixelate or cover selected areas of an image. Add multiple regions and download a flattened result.

Unlimited Free Usage

Drag on the preview to add an area, or enter pixel coordinates below and choose Add area. Select an existing area from the list to edit it. Solid cover completely conceals the selected pixels.

Up to 40 areas, covering 64 megapixels combined. The downloaded image is flattened, with no original image, layers, or selection outlines embedded. Inspect it before sharing.

Images may be up to 8000 pixels per side and 16 megapixels each. Animated images use their first frame.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. This tool processes files and entered content locally in your browser. Helphonic serves the page, scripts and any recognition models, and checks access settings. File contents, extracted text, captions, metadata values and barcode values are not sent to Helphonic or analytics.

How does usage work?

See the current access policy above. These tools launch with unlimited free usage for all audiences. If an administrator configures an allowance later, one successful export counts as one operation, including its multiple files or download formats. Per-operation device safety limits still apply.

Why are there file limits?

Processing uses your device memory and CPU. Safety limits help prevent tab crashes, especially on phones. Work is not saved to your account; download the result before leaving the page.

How to use

Blur / Pixelate Image

Apply blur, pixelation or solid covers to selected rectangular areas and export a flattened image.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Choose one JPG, PNG or WebP image.
  2. Choose Blur, Pixelate or Solid cover. Set the intensity or cover color.
  3. Drag on the preview to add an area, or enter Left, Top, Width and Height and choose Add area.
  4. Add further areas as needed. Choose an existing area to edit it, or use Remove selected, Undo or Reset all.
  5. Choose PNG or JPG, export the result and inspect every affected area at full size before sharing.
Effects and exact selection

Blur softens the selected pixels. Pixelate replaces detail with blocks. Intensity is measured in source-image pixels and changes the strength or block size. Solid cover fills the selected area with the chosen opaque color.

Coordinates start at the top-left of the image. Left and Top locate the rectangle, and Width and Height define its size. The Selected area list lets you revisit an existing rectangle and change its controls.

Choosing an effect for private content

Blur and pixelation can leave sensitive words or identifying features inferable. Use a solid cover over the full area when the original detail must be concealed, and include enough border to cover all relevant pixels.

The downloaded image is flattened: it does not contain the original image, editable layers or selection outlines as hidden content. Visible details outside your selections still remain. Check the final downloaded file, not only the preview.

Troubleshooting

Input supports one JPG/JPEG, PNG or WebP; output is PNG or JPG. Images are limited to 16 megapixels and 8000 pixels per side. Animated inputs use their first frame.

You can add up to 40 areas, with a combined area-processing budget of 64 megapixels. Large or overlapping regions can reach that budget. Use fewer regions or a smaller source image if processing is rejected.

If a region covers the wrong part, choose it in the list and check its source-pixel coordinates. Use New area before adding a separate region, and review the result after changing effect or intensity.

Processing and privacy

Files and entered content are processed on your device in this browser tab. File contents and results are not uploaded to Helphonic or sent to analytics. The page still contacts Helphonic to load its tools, check access and confirm non-content usage information. Work is not saved to your account; download or copy results before leaving or reloading the page.

About this tool

Drag to mark regions or enter exact coordinates. Choose blur, pixelation or a solid cover, adjust intensity and undo changes. Use solid covers for sensitive text; blur is not a guarantee of secrecy. The export is flattened and does not include the original as a hidden layer. Images are limited to 16 megapixels.
