How to use

Resize Image

Set a new pixel width or height for a JPG, PNG or WebP image and download it in its original format.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Choose one JPG, PNG or WebP image.
  2. Enter a target Width or Height in pixels. Leave the other field blank to retain the original proportions.
  3. If you need an exact width and height, enter both and check that the proportions are appropriate.
  4. Run Resize Image, save the result and inspect its dimensions and appearance.
Supported files and result

The result is one image in the same JPG, PNG or WebP format as the source. Supported JPEG orientation is applied before dimensions are calculated. PNG and WebP transparency can be retained.

Dimensions and proportions

Entering only width calculates height automatically; entering only height calculates width automatically. Pixel dimensions are rounded to whole numbers.

Entering both values resizes the entire image to those dimensions. Different proportions can stretch or squash the picture. Use Crop Image first when you need to change the shape without stretching its content.

Enlarging an image creates more pixels but does not recover detail missing from the original. A smaller image is usually more useful for reducing upload or display size.

Troubleshooting

At least one dimension is required. Each requested side must be between 1 and 8000 pixels, and the total pixel count must also fit the processor safety limit. Entering 8000 for both sides may therefore be rejected.

If the image looks distorted, repeat the export with only one dimension filled in. If the processor reports a memory or dimension limit, lower the requested dimensions or use a smaller source file.

Processing and privacy

The selected files are uploaded to Helphonic for processing in private storage. No third-party file-processing service is used. Temporary source and output files are removed after the download response, and failed processing cleans up temporary files. Keep your originals and save the result to your device.

About this tool

Enter a target width or height. Helphonic calculates the missing dimension when needed and creates a resized JPG, PNG, or WebP file.
